Experience the Bowen Experience

Attended the Bowen Experience(Open house) on the 25th!! It was a blast!
I was helping in the Humanities room along with Hubert and some of the guys, Ms Suan & Ms Huang were there too!

One of the Sec 3 project.

Sec 2 project. Play Monopoly while you learn HUMANITIES!! Tried playing with the guys and I couldn't answer the questions on the question card. Shame on me!! :( Love the design but something is amiss : Houses.

Close up of the monopoly. That ":O" face expression figure was my token. Sorry please ignore the misspelling there!!

These are not plastic toys. Its made of CLAY. Or you call it plastercine. How did they made it so real?? Look at that roasted chicken on the top right!

A lot of parents came for the open house. The introduction to them turned out to be more fun than we expected!! We thought it would be so boring but NO! The parents were very cooperative and friendly and there were some funny jokes going on.

Also, Humanities Room was renovated recently and now, the room is much more cosy and spacious!!

Its definately an experience to experience Bowen Experience. So come next year!!

Have a well deserved break since CT is finally over for most of us! Right, right, right?

I'm finally back to update this blog... (After infinity years!!)
Studies and the Fashion Design course module kept me busy recently, and the course dates clashes with infocomm's. But anyway the course have ended so I'm returning to infocomm! Yay!

No, I'm not fooling anyone here but theres really infocomm this thursday.

Infocomm @ NYP, April 1st 2010, 3.30pm.

3.30pm meet at the foyer, reach NYP and we must complete all our video edittings including publishing by this session as we do not want another session at NYP again.

I am proud to announce the achievements by our members for Term 1.

As you know, some students have been taken out from the NYP programme to help out with special projects.

Below are some of the projects and workshops that were carried out.

1) Public Performance Opening Video by Nicky,Cassandra,Yash,Mark,Jasper,Matthew and Junhang
2) Public Performance "Guardian of the Past" video by Junhang and Yash
3) CLD Video by Jaslyne,Bryna,Farhana,Athena,Jay,Ajevan,Nithin and
4) TLP Teaching Video by Gina,Sihan,Jolene
5) Photoshop Training by Ming Liang, Jingyi and Meihong
6) Mac Imovie sharing by Ms Suan

There will also more workshops that has been planned but not yet carried out

WARNING:
NO MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO BE PLAYING DURING
CCA TIMES.

you can have fun BUT
strictly no other form of recreation other than those that will be linked and featured in the video.

Example of playing: soccer, basketball, hide-and-seek etc...

I know some of the group's storyboarding may require their members to play sports in order to do their videos.
BUT PLEASE remember that you all have a project to finish and that the time allocated are for you to film. NOT PLAY. Once you have finished filming that particular scene (sports/playing scene), please proceed on to do the next scene.
And if before or during filming, the camcorder ran out of battery, please return to the Computer lab to find the teacher instead of lazing around.

In other words, if you got caught playing soccer/basketball/card games that have absolutely zero link-age to the project during CCA time, you would be in trouble with the teachers.

Also, please don't use your handphone during CCA unless it is for emergency calls.
Only those who has the go-ahead from leaders can use their handphone.

THIS ENTRY IS TO CLARIFY ONCE AND FOR ALL THE CONFUSION OVER THE CCA DAYS FOR THE NYP CLASS WITH MR VINCENT.

1. NEXT WED 10TH FEB, THERE IS CCA FOR ALL MEMBERS IN THE NYP CLASS WITH MR VINCENT PHUA. VENUE IS COMP LAB 4. TIME IS 3.30PM TO 5.30PM.

it is not compulsory for the sec 3 students except for the selected leaders.
sec 1 and 2 must come!!

Advertisement - members of the IT PROJECT TEAMS

There are some students in the club who will be approached to be in special project teams to help teachers with IT related projects.

Calling out to any members from Sec 2 or 3 [other than those I have/will approach] who are interested in joining the IT PROJECT TEAMS. You must have at least some of the points below.

1) Willing and able to spend time and effort [SEC 4s - You can't apply!]
2) Good IT Skills on one of the following - video editing, powerpoint, flash, robotics or animation [especially video editing]
3) Creative and wacky ideas
4) Good speaking/acting skills
5) Responsible and willing to cooperate with others - a team member

Some of the projects include
A) Public Performance Video
B) CE Assembly Video
C) Teacher Workshop Video

There is more....but we need a few good projects to show the school what we are made of first!

Interested people who want to do more than just attend IT lessons and 'enjoy air con' .......and want to gain more exposure in IT, earn more CCA points and add more accolades in your portfolio , please approach me to apply. Thanks.
